Redhill Barn has been included in Homes For Our Time, Contemporary Houses Around The World published by TASCHEN!
Site#1 is the first artwork from ‘On site’, a series of installations in London by the urban art duo ROBOCOOP! Installed at one of our on-going projects in north London, the artwork draws inspiration from paintings of construction sites such as St Leopold Inspecting the construction of Klosterneuburg Abbey (Rueland Frueauf The Younger, 1505). We’re looking forward to exploring the intersection of photography, painting, and architecture with ROBOCOOP on future projects.
Restoration of a Grade II* listed barn in Devon is underway. Layers of timber structure have been exposed spanning from the 14th to 20th centuries.
TYPE have secured planning permission for a listed barn in Devon. The project is a rural retreat in Devon inside the shell of a listed linhay, a type of farm building found in Devon and Somerset. Due to the sensitive natural habitat, we’ve designed louvred timber screens to limit any impact on light-sensitive species. Working closely with an ecologist we’ve designed openings to limit external light levels while also allowing natural daylight inside and making the most of the valley views.

Construction progressing on site outside of London
TYPE are working on the interior design a of low-energy home in North London, , designed to meet LETI Best Practice for Retrofit, and using a palette of stone, timber, and clay.
TYPE are excited to have been granted planning permission for the conversion and extension of this 16th century barn. Our proposed addition of a courtyard wing will enable the surviving shell of the late medieval threshing barn to be reinstated as one large open plan space. The materials of the new wing combine stone, timber and sheet metal, referencing the C20th agricultural vernacular.
Works are progressing on-site at our project in Kintbury!
